UNAHOTELS Century Milano Review

In the beginning, it was a bit difficult to find the hotel, it has two entrances, and google maps brought me to the one for cars. Check-in was good, the receptionist was welcoming and kind, also he spoke English very well. They let me check in 1 hour earlier and I’ve got a very nice, bright and big room. Entering the room was a bit strange – when you use the key it makes the very annoying sound “bzzzzzzz”. For those rather watch the review in video, you can check out:

UNAHOTELS Century Milan – Service Rating:  4.0/5.0
When I asked them to give me an electric kettle and they immediately brought it to my room with two cups and different kinds of coffee/tea. The service has been quite fast whenever things are requested, and they seemed to be timely and doing it happily without any issue

Five minutes after I entered the room, I started to hear some noise, which was a bit annoying to me. After 20 minutes of that, I decided to call reception and asked what was going on. They said, “we will bring you a key for another room”. They tried to give me smaller rooms than what I paid for twice, which I wasn’t so happy about. They said “wait, we will find a room the same size as the first one” and they did. I had to go through three rooms to settle into a suitable one. I don’t understand why would they try to downgrade my room when a noisy room was not my mistake.

UNAHOTELS Century Milano – Room Rating:  3.0/5.0

I could sleep very well in the hotel; everything was comfortable and calm when I got the right room on the right side of the hotel. As noted earlier, the first room I got was noisy and that could have affected my sleep or comfort if I kept that one. My tip to you is if you fall into a noisy room ask them for change as they seem to be familiar with the issue and happy to swap rooms when requested.

The bathroom is very good, except small details which you can see in the photos. They provide a good set of shower gel and shampoo. Also, they can provide other things if you request them at reception. So, if you want a bathrobe or slippers – you have to ask reception. I would prefer to have such basic things without calling and waiting for that…

I was surprised that to make it warmer I had to call reception and they change the temperature from there. Another thing which I couldn’t expect from a such hotel – very old walls full of scratches! It was in all three rooms I entered that day, so it’s not a coincidence. The windows were not clean. Not to mention that you can’t open the window there, however, it’s not a problem for me. If you don’t look at small details like scratches on the wall – rooms matching the photos on their website, you might be OK with it, but that’s left me a bit disappointed although I wanted to like the hotel.

UNAHOTELS Century Milan – Breakfast Rating:  4.0/5.0

Breakfast was amazing! They have options for any taste and diet – they have meat, vegan options, salad, vegetables, fruits, cheese, omelets, a lot of sweets, and different kinds of cereals. I can say that everything was delicious! And I didn’t expect such good coffee there. As a person who studied nutrition, I can say that you can make a very balanced breakfast there with a good amount of protein, not just tons of carbs and fats as it’s usually in Milan.

UNAHOTELS Century Milano – Lobby Rating:  4.0/5.0

On the UNAHOTELS Century Milan website, booking.com, and google maps I saw that they have a piano – which was amazing for me as a pianist! When I asked them where is the piano? They said, “we don’t have it. It’s in another our hotel”. I don’t understand why they put photos with the piano if they don’t have it. It was one of the main attractions for me as a pianist. It was a bit disappointing. Below is the piano photo from their website, which definitely does not exist at the hotel.

Here is more photos of what the lobby looks like. It has been a very welcoming for resting during the day and to hang out after checking out:

UNAHOTELS Century Milano – Check-in/Check-out Process Rating:  3.5/5.0

Check-out just like the check-in was good, I was 30 min late, but they didn’t tell me anything about that and kindly asked if everything was good after all changes and if I had a good stay. After checking out I was able to leave my luggage at the reception and sit in their nice lobby. Also, they have a great terrace near the main entrance of the hotel.

Over All Rating: Failed – 3.5/5.0

In general, staying there was OK, but next time I would choose another hotel for this price. I would look for one with spa or at least a gym. One with a real piano and rooms that match their website would be nice too.
