Uchi Moishi

The restaurant Uchi Moishi serves the most appetizing Japanese food. Not only do they share their culture with you through food, but they also have very kind staff who are willing to guide you through the menu step by step. Additionally, their menu is on a tablet instead of paper, allowing less trees to get cut down while still being able to meet their customer’s demand. The restaurant itself is also decorated in a minimalistic yet beautiful manner. However, the restaurant is leaning a little more to the expensive side. Uchi Moishi is definitely a nice place to celebrate your triumph or go out with your loved ones every now and then, just not if you’re running a little low on money.

To start off my meal I ordered a plate of sweet potato fries which is actually not in the appetizers category, although it would fit right in! The sweet potato fries were absolutely mind-blowing, they were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, the perfect duo.

For my main dish, I ordered EBI Maki, and Ramen. The EBI Maki consisted of tenkatsu, avocado fried cocktail prawn, and yellow tobiko. The yellow tobiko complimented the avocado fried cocktail prawn leaving a sweet taste resting on my tongue. The Ramen consisted of fresh ramen noodles, vegetarian broth, tofu, one soft boiled egg, two bean sprouts, corn, Bok Choy, asparagus and green onions. Although there was a variety of ingredients, they all seemed to come together quite nicely. I really enjoyed cutting the soft-boiled egg into pieces and eating it along with my noodles. Needless to say, none of the dishes were made to disappoint.

I ordered a strawberry mojito on the side, luckily the drink was not too sweet nor too sour to ruin the taste of the food. I really like how the strawberry mojito looked, it was a lovely pink color with green leaves floating inside, and it truly tasted like strawberry heaven.
