THE COFFEE
What an interesting place, it is like piece of Japan in the middle of Barcelona. Let`s describe the story from the beginning. I had been there once and then wanted to come back one more time, but I forgot the address and was trying to find it on Google map. The mission was not easy as the name from the payment in my bank was not useful. I was trying to refresh the name of it in my memory, but it was unsuccessful. Later on, I realized why this has happened. The name of the cafe was just “The coffee”. Finally, I found it and visited it one more time.
This was a very interesting experience. Before I did not realize that such places exist and exciting to share my experience with you. In the middle of the city, you can teleport to another country. To feel the soul and culture of Japan. This place is distinguished by its clarity, conciseness, and minimalism. It is a bit look like a wooden shed, but this makes this place so cute and calm. There are no tables for visitors inside. Just a long bench next to one wall, where you can seat and enjoy your coffee. When it comes to the coffee, they offer a wide variety and also has some special offers.
Let`s talk a bit more about the interior. It is a long room with a high ceiling. A lot of lights in there. Just 4 colors in the interior. Neutro color of wooden walls black, white, and silver colors of details. On one of the walls are a lot of things which are possible to buy, but it looked like a decorations. Just close to it you can recognize that it’s is for sale. Next to another wall, you can see a long kitchen set with a sink, oven, coffee machine, and a lot of tools for coffee preparation. Most of my attention was going to the oven. I am curious do they cook in it the sweets they have? It didn’t not seem to be the best place for cooking just in the middle of the cafe. Honestly, they do not have a lot of sweets and the ones they had did not look that attractive. Even the desserts shelves are hidden from your eyes when you arrive there for the first time. They are just a coffee place for people who are in love with coffee. And they are good at it.
We ordered a cappuccino and coffee with milk. Also, we asked about the cup of milk with foam for my baby. Some places call it a “children`s cappuccino”. I like to buy it for my baby because she likes to have her cup of coffee without coffee in real. As you know children love to copy adults and it gives me time to relax and enjoy my cup of coffee.
I have been there with my sister and tried a bit of her coffee also. The taste was different. Every one of us preferred her cup. I think this deserves a reward. That everyone can get what he loves. Let`s notice that on my first visit I was with another person and he was in love with his cup as well. What about a cup of milk with foam for the baby, the barista said that there is not a problem and he will do it for free because they do not have it on the menu. You can not change anything from the list. There is a tablet where you chose your order and pay. The process is completely automatic. They are not accepting cash. Tablet has 6 languages for creating and checkout. Any moment the barista can help you to find the right coffee you want.
On two different visits were different baristas. They both were nice and kind. They were looking happy with the things they do, but today our barista forgot about our extra order of milk. It was not a big problem for us as when we reminded him, he did it immediately. My baby was happy.
One more cute detail was the plate of water for dogs near the entrance. And the mysterious steps going to the second floor at end of the room. Who knows what is there?
If you want a warm smile from someone and a good cup of coffee, you must visit this place. Maybe you will be a bit disappointed about as first impression but the aftertaste will be magnificent for sure.
